As the gaming landscape stands on the precipice of an industry-altering shift, Microsoft's $69 billion acquisition of Activision Blizzard continues to traverse the convoluted corridors of regulatory approvals and legal challenges. Now, in an unprecedented move to assuage lingering concerns, Microsoft has committed to retaining the popular Call of Duty franchise on Sony's PlayStation platform even post-acquisition, effectively mollifying apprehensions held by Sony and the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC).

The undertaking came via an announcement from Microsoft Gaming's CEO, Phil Spencer, who confirmed the signing of a binding agreement with PlayStation, a decision driven by a shared vision for an inclusive future where players worldwide can engage with their preferred games irrespective of platform.
