Quenching a Crisis: The UK Government's Contingency Plan for Ailing Thames Water

Thames Water, Britain's largest water company, has lately been under considerable scrutiny due to its daunting debt pile. As a result, contingency plans for the company's potential collapse are currently under discussion by the UK government and the industry regulator, Ofwat. The company is on the brink of being put into a Special Administration Regime (SAR), effectively transferring it into temporary public ownership.
